This project seeks to break the cycle of deforestation and overexploitation of land by combining environmental stewardship and economic opportunity. The youngsters are trained on how to plant and maintain an orchard. Through the generous support of World Connect, we are planting a very first community orchard in Tali village, South West Region of Cameroon with 20 children between 5 and 6 years. A total of 100 trees will be planted and owned by these children. Money made in the long run will be used to sponsor the children in school and to maintain the orchard.
We anticipate planting over 200 orchards with over 2000 children in 200 communities in Cameroon over the next 5 years.
